Tugged in the corner of a tiny strip mall on Staten Island was this beauty salon that had seen it’s better days. The plumbing system was old, the floor tiled cracked, and the space was just the opposite of beauty. With limited budget, the owner came to us to bring her business to the next level. In addition, this would be a new beginning for her as the newly-renovated salon would be partly owned by one of the beauticians who had worked for her for many years. To meet her budget, we partnered up with a contractor early in the process to form a design-build team. It was a success; both the budget and schedule were met. The new salon opened with tremendous fanfare. Fast forward to six months after the renovation, the owner reported that business had increased three-fold. Customers give rave reviews about how great they feel just by being in this space.
