There is a chef in many of us, we love food, but we love to create what we consume even more. That’s why I loved working on this Upper West Side kitchen renovation with the homeowner. Just as I do, he loves to cook for his wife and his son. Naturally, he wanted the kitchen to function and feel like one that could rival a professional kitchen. We spent many hours comparing notes about equipment and kitchen cabinets as well as some of our favorite recipes – it was a truly collaborative effort. The result is a kitchen that is open to the living room and dining room so the homeowner can take part in entertaining his guests at the custom-designed counter top. The dining room became an extension of the kitchen, with skylights in both spaces becoming a common design element. Needless to say, the family spent a lot of time in the kitchen and the dining room where a lot of delicious food was prepared for all to enjoy.
