FAQ

  • We're more like tailors than factories! While we can assess any project that walks through the door, our sweet spot lies in residential renovations above 1,500 square feet and commercial projects between 2,000 and 25,000 square feet. In those ranges, we can take your vision and craft something truly exceptional. However, if your project has a unique charm, even if it's a bit smaller, don't be shy – we might just surprise you with what we can achieve!

  • Understanding your budget is a crucial part of any renovation or construction project.  We can certainly assist you in developing a realistic budget range for your project, whether it's an interior renovation, an addition to your existing home (or business), or entirely new construction.

To provide the most accurate estimate, we'll meet with you over a Project Discovery session when we gather details about your project, such as:

The scope of work (what exactly needs to be done)

The location of the project (construction costs can vary depending on your area)

The specific features and finishes you envision (material selections impact cost)

Your desired completion timeframe (expedited timelines may affect costs)

Once we have this information, we can leverage our experience and network of trusted contractors to develop a budget that reflects your goals and market realities (and constraints). Feel free to reach out for a consultation to discuss your project in more detail.

  • Every project is unique, just like a fingerprint!  To ensure a smooth and successful collaboration, we need to start with a strong foundation. That means getting to know your project and you!  After all, we could be working together anywhere from 6 months to 5 years, so a good fit is essential.

Here's how we kick things off:

Free 30-Minute Phone Consultation: We'll chat about the basics of your project and answer any questions you might have that aren't covered in this FAQ.

Project Discovery Session: This is where we dive deeper! We'll explore your vision, discuss opportunities and constraints, and provide a report summarizing everything. This crucial step helps us set realistic expectations for cost, timeline, and feasibility – saving you time and money in the long run.

Think of it as a roadmap to your dream project.  We're here to guide you every step of the way!

  • Great question!  The truth is, predicting a design timeline is a bit like forecasting the weather – there are lots of factors at play.

    Here's the gist:

Complexity Matters: Renovation projects with structural, electrical, or plumbing changes can take at least 30 days due to the extra coordination involved. Think of it as intricate puzzle-solving!

Size Matters Too: Larger projects with high level of design details naturally take more time to design than the smaller ones.

But It's Not Just Size! Other things can influence the timeline, like having a contractor on board early, historic preservation considerations, special use requirements, and the list goes on.

The good news?  We can give you a more accurate timeframe once we have a better understanding of your project.  This includes your goals, the current state of the site, and any unique needs you might have.

Think of it as this: the more details we have, the better we can map your design journey and estimate how long it will take.  We'll be sure to keep you informed every step of the way!
